Madeleine

1. Noun: A small, fancy sponge cake 

madeleine

A tiny cake upon a plate

does sit and appealingly wait.

With spongy crust and sparkling dust

of sugar

on all sides,

a sweetness on the breeze.

To take a bite of spongy crust,

to taste light sugary dust,

t’would be a task of greatest joy

 done with slightest ease.
